The First Sesh!

Finally!
ON THE WATER AGAIN!
My ankle feels a ton better and my kit finally arrived in Wellington. And sure enough, like the last four days straight, it was blowing 25 knots from the northwest. Just to take it a bit easy, I stayed in the harbour and sailed Evan's Bay. Well, after coming halfway around the world, it was amazing to see that this spot was almost EXACTLY like Emily St. Wind coming from the right, moderate sized chop, nasty rocky beach (not only for walking out, but also for rigging - the new board loved that ;)... all but the quality kooks of Emily St.
So... It was like I never had a year break at all... I seemed a bit rusty for sure but it felt great to be out there in familiar conditions for my first ankle workout. I promised myself and Cheryl no looping on the first day and stuck to it, but I did go for a bunch of other ankle wrenching maneuvers, none of which had too much of a bad effect. It was incredible! Back in the saddle! And more wind on the way... The new kit is shweet - sailed the new Quatro 76 and Goya 4.4... and they are still in one piece! ;)
