Bike Trip - Day 13: Barrytown to Punakaiki

As we suspected yesterday, the coastal view was indeed spectacular. Unfortunately, the wet riding seemed to get some grit into Mike's front wheel bearings and the crackling noises got worse and worse as we approached the pancake rocks of Punakaiki. We set up camp there and hitched the remaining 50 km (wheel in hand) to Westport for some repairs. Our generous drivers took us door-to-door and the bike shop even had an email cafe!? Sometimes our luck can be pretty good!
