Bike Trip - Day 3: near Kekerengu to Kaikoura
Biking day 3:
We gave ourselves an easy day today and have just come as far as Kaikoura. The skies have been slowly clearing all morning and it's now mid-afternoon, a beautiful sunny day in this little town of 2600 people. The tent is pitched at a camp on the edge of town, we're both showered and refreshed and we'll spend the evening strolling around to the local shops and tourist attractions. A lot of whale watching, snorkelling and hiking trips are available from here. "Kaikoura" means "eat crayfish" in Maori, and we've noticed a few BYO restaurants along the waterfront, so we'll probably treat ourselves to a nice dinner tonight. Aside from sore bums, life is grand.
Running total: 174 km, 10 hrs 12 min
