Dr. Svengali - You da man!
I reckon we have been a wee been slack in our updates. We'll blame it on the babies for now... This update is slightly retro.
Ultrasound #5 took place last week. Another touching moment of watching the little buggers squirm out of the way, making those simple measurements like pulling teeth. We both claim to have seen glimpses of protruding genetalia, but who really knows - they are slippery ones those two and you never know what is hand, foot, head or tail... Good thing we have our boys names sorted. I guess all this pretty much assures they'll be females. While everything is likely just hunky dorry, a bit of concern over their divergent weights. Both were in close proximity to 450g last time and they had seemed to close the gap a bit. This time, not so. Baby A has turned it up a notch and was around 700g, while Baby B is just under 600g. While not reason for alarm, Cheryl and I are beginning already to comprehend the stress that parents endure, for the rest of their lives...
We've since pretty much chilled out about it. We have heard lots of stories about vastly differing birth weights for identicals, nearing up to 1kg in some cases. However, our doc, Dr 'Svengali' Sangali, opted to get us in for an extra scan at 26wks... just around the corner. We like him... he's a pretty funny guy.
Next scan: next week.
