The Black Hills of South Dakota

The Black Hills of South Dakota are home to Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse, two carved mountain monoliths. It is a stunning area with some pretty insane corkscrew curves to the roads and beautiful scenery everywhere.

While Mt. Rushmore with el presidentes has been around for quite some time, the Crazy Horse monument is just under construction, a dedictation to a local influential indian Chief.

Since it was getting real late, we ended up staying at a horse ranch near Custer State Park just on the outskirts of the Hills. The Cowboys and Cowladies treated us just fine and dandy and we slept to the horses neighing through the night. It was our first night in colder weather!
